Question 1

What is an eSIM?

Accepted Answer

An eSIM is a SIM card built into your phone. Instead of inserting a physical chip, you download a SIM profile by scanning a QR code. Travel eSIMs use this technology to give your phone mobile data abroad without a physical SIM card.

Question 2

Do I need an account to buy a MoMo plan?

Accepted Answer

No. You choose a plan, enter your email address for delivery, and pay by card. The eSIM is sent to that email address.

Question 3

In which countries does MoMo sell eSIM plans?

Accepted Answer

MoMo offers plans for more than 150 countries, plus regional plans (such as Europe) and global plans that cover many countries with a single eSIM. You can browse all destinations on the plans page.

Question 4

How will I receive my eSIM?

Accepted Answer

After payment you receive an email containing your eSIM QR code and a manual installation code. The email arrives right after a successful payment; if it is not in your inbox, check your spam folder.

Question 5

What is the difference between fixed and unlimited plans?

Accepted Answer

A fixed plan includes a set amount of data (for example 10 GB) for a set number of days. An unlimited plan does not have a data cap for its validity period. Both expire when the validity period ends.

Question 6

What happens when my data runs out?

Accepted Answer

When the data allowance of a fixed plan is used up, the mobile data connection stops until the plan expires. If you need more data, you can buy a new plan. Unlimited plans are not capped during their validity.

Question 7

When does the validity period of my plan start?

Accepted Answer

The validity period starts when the eSIM is activated on your device: for auto-start plans, the first time the eSIM connects to a supported network. It does not start at the moment of purchase, so you can buy before you travel.

Question 8

Can I share my eSIM connection with other devices?

Accepted Answer

Yes, eSIM data plans generally support hotspot and tethering, so you can share the connection with a laptop or tablet. All connected devices share the data allowance of your plan.

Question 9

Which phones support eSIM?

Accepted Answer

Most iPhones released since 2018 (iPhone XS and newer) support eSIM, as well as many recent Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel and other Android models. Support can vary by model and region.

Question 10

How do I check whether my phone supports eSIM?

Accepted Answer

On iPhone, go to Settings > Cellular and look for 'Add eSIM'. On Android, check Settings under Network or SIM settings, or dial *#06# in the phone app: if an EID number appears, your device likely supports eSIM. Our compatibility guide lists verified models.

Question 11

How do I install an eSIM on an iPhone?

Accepted Answer

Open Settings > Cellular > Add eSIM, then scan the QR code from your delivery email and follow the on-screen steps. Afterwards, select the eSIM as your mobile data line.

Question 12

How do I install an eSIM on an Android phone?

Accepted Answer

The exact menu differs by brand, but you generally find it under Settings > Network or SIM settings (for example 'Add eSIM' or 'Download SIM'). Scan the QR code from your delivery email and confirm. Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel steps are covered in our install guide.

Question 13

Should I install the eSIM before I travel?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Installing at home over WiFi is the easiest moment: the plan activates when the eSIM connects to a supported network, so installing early does not shorten your validity.

Question 14

Which payment methods does MoMo accept?

Accepted Answer

MoMo accepts card payments, processed securely by Stripe. Your card details are handled by Stripe's payment infrastructure and are not stored by MoMo.

Question 15

Is my payment processed securely?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Payments are processed by Stripe over an encrypted connection, and the website runs over HTTPS. MoMo stores the order reference, the delivery email address and the eSIM details, not your card data.

Question 16

My eSIM is installed but shows no service. What should I do?

Accepted Answer

Check that mobile data and data roaming are enabled for the eSIM line, that airplane mode is off, and that the eSIM is selected as your data line. If it still does not connect, restart your phone and wait a few minutes.

Question 17

Mobile data is not working after installing the eSIM. What now?

Accepted Answer

First check that the eSIM line has data and data roaming enabled. Then restart your phone. If you are still in your home country, remember that the plan only connects in its supported destinations.

Question 18

I did not receive my eSIM email. What should I do?

Accepted Answer

Check your spam or junk folder and make sure you entered your email address correctly at checkout. If the email still has not arrived, contact support via our contact page and we will help you.
