At momo, we built the product around a simple principle: collect only what is strictly necessary to deliver your eSIM, and nothing more. Here is why that matters, and exactly what it means for you.
Why data protection matters more than ever
Every time you sign up for a service, your personal data enters a system. That system can be hacked, sold, or subpoenaed. Marketing emails follow. Targeted ads follow. In the worst cases, identity theft follows. The only reliable way to prevent these outcomes is to not collect the data in the first place.
GDPR and similar laws were created to give people back control over their own information. But legal compliance is a floor, not a ceiling. At momo, we go further: we designed the entire purchase flow so that we never need to ask who you are.
How momo protects you
No account required
You do not need to create an account to buy an eSIM from momo. No username, no password, no profile. You provide an email address so we can send you the QR code, and that is it. We do not link that email to any persistent identity in our systems.
Minimal data, kept only as long as needed
Once your QR code is delivered, momo does not use your personal data for marketing or profiling purposes. Order records are kept only for a limited period to provide support, as described in our privacy policy. We do not track how much data you used. Your travel life is your own.
Payment handled by Stripe
All payments are processed by Stripe, one of the most trusted and certified payment processors in the world. momo never sees or stores your card number. Stripe handles tokenisation, fraud detection, and PCI-DSS compliance. Your financial data never touches our servers.
No tracking, no profiling
We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your purchase history to build an advertising profile. We do not share your email with partners. The relationship is simple: you pay for a plan, we deliver the eSIM, the transaction is complete.
GDPR compliance
The General Data Protection Regulation requires organisations that handle EU residents' data to do so transparently, proportionately, and with a clear legal basis. momo operates on the principle of data minimisation: we collect only what is needed to fulfil your order, and we do not retain it beyond that purpose.
Because we do not require registration, most users have no account with us at all. If you have any question about what data we hold or want to request deletion, you can contact us at any time and we will respond within the timelines required by law.
